Why American 304 Stainless Steel Beats Cheap Cast Zinc Divot Tools Every Time

Reach into the bottom of almost any golf bag and you’ll find the same graveyard of "free" pro-shop accessories: a bent prong on a pot-metal pitch tool, a rusted nickel-plated hat clip, and a plastic tee holder that snapped the first time the temperature dropped.
Most mass-produced golf multi-tools are stamped or die-cast overseas using cheap zinc alloys or nickel-plated iron. The moment they meet sand, fertilizer chemicals, and moisture, the plating chips—and the metal underneath rusts, scratches, and bends.
How We Build The Tee Clip® V.V in Southern California
In our Mission Viejo, California shop, we fabricate The Tee Clip® V.V and MINI V.V by hand from USA-sourced, 18-gauge 304 Stainless Steel (#4 brushed finish) around five core engineering principles:
- Patent-Pending Magnetic System First: The first and only patent-pending magnetic golf tee holder for your hat—using dual linear neodymium magnets extending through the two-piece body so it locks onto your brim when you don't need it and detaches effortlessly when you do.
- Hand-Made Natural-Tension Barrels Second (Patent-Pending): Shaped on our proprietary bender, our hand-made 304 stainless steel barrels hold golf tees mechanically using natural physical tension—with zero springs, clamps, rubber grommets, or velcro. A simple 1/4-turn unlocks or relocks your tee.
- Proprietary Duo Clip V.V Third (Patent-Pending): Our dual-magnetic 18-gauge 304 stainless steel hat clip holds The Tee Clip on the top surface of your brim using two 0.3mm protruding linear magnets (with natural auto-correct alignment so it always lays flush) and holds our Signature Hand-Stamped 18mm Tee Clip® Ball Marker via an embedded magnet underneath the brim.
- Removable Cut-From-Body Magnetic Divot Tool Fourth (Patent-Pending): Our divot tool does not swing out on a weak hinge. It is laser-cut directly from the body and held in place via a magnet in the divot tool and a matching magnet hidden in the surface of the face of the upper body (2.2 lb hold). Remove it completely, turn it 180 degrees, and reconnect it with the magnet while locking it into the central notch to hold the full body in your hand as a larger, easier-to-hold divot tool.
- 24-Hour Citric Acid Passivation Bath Last: Every unit is scrubbed free of exposed iron dust with a nylon brush and acetone, submerged in a 24-hour citric acid bath, and hung dry for 24 hours to form an invisible, self-repairing chromium oxide layer that will never rust.
