The Tee Clip™ was born from Shane’s personal frustrations playing golf, but it has now become a novel accessory facilitating fulfilling golf experiences. The Tee Clip™ is made from stainless steel and attaches magnetically to a clip positioned on the brim of a hat with powerful magnets. Before founding Lost Wedge LLC and creating the prototype for The Tee Clip™, Shane was working in retail. He had tried his hand at entrepreneurship several times since he was a child, including selling golf balls with his brother at age six. However, he fell into an unexpected retail career for 10 years after life got in the way of his business endeavors. It wasn’t until his daughter commented about his absence on her birthday that Shane was determined to build more autonomy and flexibility in his professional life. Despite working long shifts at his current job, he balanced schoolwork with his everyday stressors. Becoming a financial advisor enabled him to spend more time with his children and ultimately introduced him to golf.
After poking enough holes in his pants, and emptying his pockets on multiple occasions, Shane decided to create a solution, resulting in the creation of The Tee Clip™. He made the first prototype at home for personal use and his friends showed interest. Shane launched Lost Wedge LLC’s website with no expectations of becoming the owner of one of the fastest-growing golf startups. In the first two months, The Tee Clip™ sold out five times and orders kept coming. Shane’s commitment to high-quality, US-made products is a large factor in the brand’s rapid growth into a global retailer.
