How a Battle Against the Golf Gods Created The Tee Clip®

I. THE ANCIENT CURSE OF MT. FAIRWAY

Long before the first prototype was struck in a Southern California workshop, the celestial fairways were ruled by a treacherous pantheon of Golf Gods.

For centuries, these deities kept mortals humbled through petty chaos: poking holes in golf shorts with sharp wooden tees, burying ball markers at the bottom of cluttered pockets, and dropping divot tools into the abyss of deep rough.


Their most cruel relic was the Lost Wedge—a mythical, perfect club forged by Albatrosus, God of Miracles. Legend spoke of a wedge so balanced and divine that anyone who swung it could escape any bunker and land inches from the pin.

Jealous of its power, Hazardus and Divotius banished the weapon into the mortal realm, burying it deep within an impenetrable hazard where no golfer could ever find it.

They decreed that humanity would forever be condemned to endless pocket-fumbling, lost gear, and frustration on the course.

They did not account for Shane Wieters.

II. THE MORTAL WHO DEFIED THE PANTHEON


Shane didn’t grow up in the temples of the gods. He spent a decade managing Guitar Center stores before shifting into finance as a registered investment advisor. When he took up golf, he didn't just see a game—he saw the subtle, chaotic curses of Shankor and Yipocles at work.

Tees falling out of hat brims. Gloved hands digging frantically in pockets while playing partners waited. Essential gear disappearing at the worst possible moments.

Realizing the market offered no clean escape from this divine torment, Shane decided to forge a remedy himself.

In early 2023, he began prototyping at home. Taking inspiration from the legend of the Lost Wedge, he sought to create a mortal relic that could tame the chaos of the course. The gods fought back—early prototypes were clumsy, failing to hold tees under the wrath of Shankor’s vibrations. But Shane persevered, teaching himself precision machining and custom fabrication.

Then, the breakthrough occurred.


Shane forged a multi-use tool from USA-sourced 18-gauge and 20-gauge 304 stainless steel with a #4 brushed finish—a metal strong enough to withstand the tantrums of Divotius and light enough to defy gravity. He engineered patent-pending barrels to lock wooden or plastic tees into place, added a built-in ball marker with an alignment sight line called A.I.M. (Align In Middle) to defeat Yipocles, and integrated a magnetic structure that anchored securely to hat brims, belts, and waistbands.

III. FROM AN IDEA TO A REVOLUTION

On September 9, 2023, Shane founded Lost Wedge®, LLC—naming the company as a symbol of reclaiming the magic the gods had hidden away.

On October 14, 2023, The Tee Clip® went live on theteeclip.com and social platforms. The first sale took three days. Then demand surged—selling out multiple times in the first two months. What started as a personal fix was clearly solving a real problem for thousands of golfers.

Furious that a mortal had brought order to their chaotic game, the gods watched as the product line expanded:
